BioI'm:
- a computer programmer at Drexel University, working on the administrative (newly renamed "Enterprise") systems.
- a participant and member of the Society for Creative Anachronism since 1977, currently living in the Barony of Bhakail in the Kingdom of the East. In the SCA I teach medieval and Renaissance dance, do blackwork and crossstitch embroidery, but have no costuming skills whatsoever.
- an avid reader, with over 5000 books in my library (though I've only read about half of them)
- an amateur writer, in pursuit of which I participate in the Dargon Project and have since about 1986 (please visit the web page, read our stuff, and pass the word around!)
- occupying my spare time listening to 600+ CDs, building numerous Lego sets, dabbling in stained and leaded glass, reading, writing, watching far too much TV, among other things
- in possession of a liver suffering from NASH cirrhosis, diagnosed on July 20th, 2006. In January, 2007 I was put on the transplant list with a MELD score of 10. In July 2007, at a routine followup exam, my MELD score was elevated to 12. In October 2007, my MELD score had elevated again to 15, possibly from something going wrong with my kidneys. On October 29th, I went into the hospital for bleeding varices in my esophagus, which were banded (and re-banded at a followup in early December).
